A New Year, A New Mandate

I've been photographing my kids' lunches for the last 3 weeks (almost) every day, yet I seem to have a block when it comes to posting them on this blog!

So, I started to think a bit about why I was doing the blog.  I really wanted to show that it is possible to put together a variety of healthful lunches for your kids that get past nitrate-laden luncheon meats and transfat-full peanut butter sandwiches (check your ingredient list on the peanut butter you buy - many have partially hydrogenated fats in them (aka trans fats) which are very harmful to your health and that of your kids).

Perhaps the past 50 odd days have inspired a few of you to think outside the lunch box, but I don't think the format is the most helpful to demonstrate how it is possible.

So, instead of blogging daily to show what I put in the lunchbox, I'm going to switch it up and offer my favorite time-saving tips, healthful recipes and just plain fun food.

To all of our health and vitality in 2011!
